Life Aid Xtra is an oral rehydration product specifically indicated for addressing dehydration, electrolyte loss, and acidosis associated with scour in calves. Here are the key instructions and information provided for using Life Aid Xtra:

- Dosage Preparation: Prepare a fresh solution before each dose by dissolving the contents of one sachet in 2 litres (3½ pints) of warm water.

-Withdrawal of Milk and Milk Replacer: All milk and milk replacer should be withdrawn at the first signs of scour.

-Initial Treatment (First 2 Days): Administer 2 litres of the freshly prepared Life Aid Xtra solution twice daily for 2 days.

-Subsequent Treatment (Next 2 Days): For the next 4 feeds (2 days), administer 1 litre of Life Aid Xtra solution and 1 litre of milk replacer.

-Resuming Normal Diet: Thereafter, a normal diet is resumed.

Severity of Symptoms: In cases where symptoms are severe, the solution may be fed 3 or 4 times daily.

-Maximum Duration of Use: The solution may be given for a maximum of 4 days only when administered on its own.

-Additional Rehydration Therapy: In severe cases where some calves may require additional intravenous (i.v.) rehydration therapy, consultation with a veterinary surgeon is recommended.

-Consultation with a Veterinary Surgeon: If the condition fails to improve after 4 days, it is advised to consult a veterinary surgeon.

-Zero Withdrawal: There is a zero withdrawal period, indicating that there are no restrictions on the consumption of milk or meat from treated animals.
